Demokommunen is responsible for this website. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. Here we describe how the website meets the Swedish law on accessibility to digital public services (the DOS Act), known issues and how you can report problems so that we can fix them.

How accessible is the website?

The website is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. It can be used with a keyboard only, with screen readers and with magnification up to 400 percent without horizontal scrolling. All pages, including My pages and forms with errors, are tested automatically with axe-core on wide screens and at 320 pixels wide, and manually with a keyboard.

Known issues

  • Titles without a cover are shown with a symbol for the media type.
  • Embedded videos from YouTube and Vimeo come from their players; subtitles depend on the video.
  • Translation with Google Translate is done by Google and may be inaccurate.
  • You are logged out after a while without activity, to protect your data on shared computers. Anything you have typed in a form is not saved then.
  • Catalogue records may lack language information, and then the title is read with Swedish pronunciation.

The library system for staff

The staff part of the library system (Boknavet) is also built for WCAG 2.2 level AA and tested in the same way, with keyboard, screen readers, text size, high contrast and keyboard shortcuts that can be turned off.

How we test and update

Every change to the website and the staff system is tested automatically against WCAG 2.2 A and AA before it goes live. The statement is updated when something changes and at least once a year.

What can you do if you cannot use parts of the website?

Contact the library and we will help you. You can also report accessibility problems to us.

Supervision

The Agency for Digital Government (Digg) supervises the law. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your comments, you can contact Digg and tell them.
